This is a woven design project where I have explored the usage of elastic yarn (lycra) along with spun polyester yarns to create a puckering effect in the resultant fabric.

All of the samples have been handwoven on a table loom over the course of a week.

The inspiration for this project has been taken forward from one of my other projects (refer to the 'the Spirit of Spring'), i.e the aerial view of a paddy field. 

Keeping these keywords in mind, several quick explorations were made in order to create a concept, which would later be translated into fabrics by weaving.

The colours for the warp were derived from the heimtextil trend forecast for the year 2024. (Plant based textiles)
